 This course introduces you to the advantages of diving with a full face mask (FFM), including the ability to breathe naturally through both your nose and mouth, enhanced warmth in colder conditions, and the option to integrate underwater communication systems.


  • Set up, fit, and maintain a full face mask
  • Manage air supply and emergency procedures unique to FFMs
  • Communicate effectively underwater (with or without comms systems)
  • Dive with increased stability and situational awareness

Unlike a wetsuit, a dry suit seals you off from the water, keeping you dry and insulated so you can enjoy longer dives and extend your dive season year-round. Whether you’re exploring local lakes in winter or planning trips to iconic cold-water destinations, 


  • Safely use, control, and manage buoyancy in a dry suit
  • Properly don, doff, and care for your dry suit equipment
  • Choose the right suit and undergarments 
  • Handle air and emergency procedures unique to dry suit diving

Course Requirements

Develop the skills to become a Public Safety Diver

Before entering a Public Safety Diver course, prospective students must first build a strong foundation of core diving and emergency response skills. These foundational abilities not only ensure personal safety but also prepare divers to operate effectively in high-risk, mission-driven environments. At a minimum, candidates are expected to possess fundamental scuba certifications such as open water and advanced diving, along with rescue-level training. These qualifications provide essential com

Open Water Dives: 4

Certification: Advanced Open Water Diver

Required Student Equipment: Dry Suit, Full Face Mask, and full scuba gear (with appropriate accessories)

Affiliation: A recognized recovery dive team.
